A Biographic Assessment Study
Thesis
John D. Rockefeller is known as an industrialist, an entrepreneur, and America’s first Billionaire. He is universally regarded as to be one of history’s most successful business tycoons. This paper is a biographic assessment of Rockefeller and will analyze the business practices through which he became one of the most prominent Robber Barron’s of the Gilded Age. Although the nature of his business practices remains highly questionable, Rockefeller is said to have positively impacted the world overall.[1] In an attempt to unpack this claim, the paper will explore his early life, his business empire, and his retirement years which he largely dedicated to philanthropy highlighting how he used his success to help others.
